Im Mai 1948, einen Monat nach der Gr\u00fcndung des Parks, wurde der Tsavo-Nationalpark zu Verwaltungszwecken in Ost und West geteilt. Benannt nach dem Tsavo-Fluss, der von Westen nach Osten flie\u00dft, gilt der Park als eine der Hochburgen der Artenvielfalt weltweit. Der Tsavo East National Park ist mit 13.747 km2 einer der \u00e4ltesten und gr\u00f6\u00dften Parks in Kenia. Er liegt in einem halbtrockenen Gebiet, das fr\u00fcher als Taru-W\u00fcste bekannt war, und wurde im April 1948 er\u00f6ffnet. Er befindet sich in der N\u00e4he der Stadt Voi im <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taitataveta.go.ke\/\">Bezirk Taita-Taveta<\/a>. Es ist besonders bekannt f\u00fcr seine gro\u00dfen Elefantenherden und die faszinierenden Landschaften. Tsavo ist eines der am wenigsten besiedelten Wildgebiete in Kenia und perfekt f\u00fcr alle, die eine unber\u00fchrte Tierwelt erleben m\u00f6chten.<br\/>Der Nationalpark besteht aus Grasland und Savanne sowie aus Flussbetten, die von den Fl\u00fcssen Tsavo und Athi gebildet werden, die sich zum Galana River vereinen. Der Park ist riesig und die G\u00e4ste m\u00fcssen sich bei der Wildbeobachtung oft in Geduld \u00fcben, aber die Belohnung ist gro\u00df. Die erfahrenen Safari-Guides sind mit den Wildbewegungen und den saisonalen Wanderwegen und -zeiten der Wildtiere in Tsavo vertraut. Einige der beliebtesten Attraktionen von Tsavo Ost sind der Mudanda Rock, das Yatta Plateau und die Lugard Falls.<\/p>\n\n<p>Die Oberfl\u00e4che dieses Teils von Tsavo ist im Wesentlichen flach und mit niedriger, trockener Vegetation bedeckt. Das Reservat ist ein beliebtes Ziel f\u00fcr Kurzsafaris von der kenianischen K\u00fcste aus, z.B. von Mombasa aus, was einen atemberaubenden Strand- und Buschurlaub in Ostafrika erm\u00f6glicht. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Wie man dorthin kommt<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Mit dem Flugzeug: Der Tsavo East National Park verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber mehrere Landebahnen: Vio, Aruba, Satao, Sala, Ithumba, Sangayaya, Mopeo, Bachuma und Cottars.<br\/>Auf der Stra\u00dfe: Das Mtito Andei Gate des Parks liegt 233 km s\u00fcdlich von Nairobi und 250 km n\u00f6rdlich von Mombasa an der Hauptstra\u00dfe zwischen Nairobi und Mombasa.<\/p>\n\n<p>Entfernung Nairobi-Mtito Andei: 233 km &#8211; Mtito Andei-Voi: 96 km &#8211; Voi-Mombasa: 153 km. Von Malindi aus nehmen Sie die westliche Stra\u00dfe (C103) und betreten den Park \u00fcber das Sala Gate.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong><strong>Was Sie sehen und tun k\u00f6nnen<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Tsavo Ost ist im Allgemeinen flach mit trockenen Ebenen, durch die der Galana River flie\u00dft. Zu den Attraktionen geh\u00f6ren das Yatta Plateau, Lugards Falls, Mudanda Rock und der Aruba Dam. Die Wasserspiele in Tsavo verleihen dem Park eine oasenartige Anziehungskraft und sorgen daf\u00fcr, dass die Tierwelt pr\u00e4sent bleibt.<\/p>\n\n<p>  Die begehrtesten Arten sind Hirolas Antilope, Mungo, Giraffe, L\u00f6ffelhund, Hyrax, Grevy&#8217;s Zebra, Schuppentier, Sykes-Affe, Schwarzgesicht-Samt\u00e4ffchen und Dik Dik, um nur einige zu nennen. \u00dcber 500 Vogelarten wurden in diesem Gebiet gez\u00e4hlt, darunter Strau\u00df, Turmfalke, Star, Webervogel, Eisvogel, Bussard, Hornvogel, Sekret\u00e4r und Reiher.<\/p>\n\n<p>Tsavo-L\u00f6wen sind historisch gesehen ber\u00fchmt daf\u00fcr, dass sie keine M\u00e4hne haben (sogar die M\u00e4nnchen), und aufgrund dieser Seltenheit wurden viele L\u00f6wen in Tsavo gejagt und get\u00f6tet. In Kenia ist die Jagd schon seit vielen Jahren verboten, aber die N\u00e4he der kenianischen D\u00f6rfer zu den Wildreservaten bedeutet, dass der Konflikt zwischen Mensch und Wildtier sorgf\u00e4ltig gemanagt werden muss.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Klima<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Kenia liegt auf der anderen Seite des \u00c4quators, und der Tsavo East National Park liegt nur ein paar Grad s\u00fcdlicher Breite. Die Temperatur ist das ganze Jahr \u00fcber ziemlich konstant, aber die Niederschl\u00e4ge variieren. Die tropischen Temperaturen liegen zwischen 27-31\u00b0C (81-88\u00b0F) am Tag und 22-24\u00b0C (72-75\u00b0F) in der Nacht. Die lange Regenzeit in Kenia dauert von M\u00e4rz bis Mai und die starken Regenf\u00e4lle machen diese Zeit zu einer schlechten Zeit f\u00fcr Wildtiersafaris.<\/p>\n\n<p>Die kurze Regenzeit dauert von Oktober bis Dezember, aber das Wetter in dieser Zeit ist immer noch gut genug, um auf Safari zu gehen &#8211; rechnen Sie nur mit einigen Nachmittagsschauern.
