This Day Tour To David Sheldrick Elephants and Giraffe Centre is ideal for any traveler spending sometime in Nairobi. It is one of the Epic Places to Visit in Nairobi. You will start by visiting the David Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary. Here they open strictly for only 1 hour between 11 am and 12 noon. The visit offers a wonderful opportunity to see the baby elephants being fed with milk from bottles and when they play with each other. The keepers will give you a lecture of each of them explaining their names and their life histories on how they were orphaned. It’s a great place to go and adopt a baby elephant. You will have a chance to interact with the young orphaned elephants and learn about their unique yet moving stories of how they got there, how they got their names and what plans are there to release them.
You will then be driven to the Giraffe Centre where you will learn more about the conversation efforts to conserve an endangered species and also get to feed them and take selfies with the Giant animals.
You will then be driven to the Beads factory. This is a pottery company that makes one of the world most beautiful beads. You will be shown all the stages from the start to the finish. It’s also a unique factory as it employs single mother parents from the poor neighborhood who earn a living to support their families.
You then have the option of being driven to lunch and then to your hotel.
