The very scenic Amboseli National Park is one of Kenya’s most popular parks. It’s located about 230 kilometres south-east of Nairobi on the Tanzanian border. Amboseli enjoys the backdrop of Africa’s most iconic mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. The flat open landscape makes for easy game viewing. Amboseli is a small park, a bit more than 390 square kilometres, located more than 1100 metres above sea level. The name Amboseli means ‘salty dust’ in Masai. What makes it special are the Enkongo Narok and Olokenya swamps fed by the melting snow of Kilimanjaro. These water sources attract animals of all sizes, especially during the dry season. Amboseli is home of the African elephants presenting a great views of the mighty Mt. Kilimanjaro, which on a clear morning, you’ll admire the snow covered peaks. After breakfast depart for Masai Mara, where you’ll view breath-taking vistas, abundant wildlife, and endless plains. This enchanting Masai Mara safari delivers many attractions, as the reserve is home to an excellent year-round concentration of game, including the more than two million wildebeest, zebras and other antelopes that participate in the famous Great Migration. Arrive in time for lunch. Later in the afternoon you’ll proceed for an afternoon safari safari game drive.
The whole day is dedicated to game spotting in this sprawling reserve. You may be lucky to sight a lion, cheetah or leopard hunting or feasting on its kill.
