Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park has an area covering both Arusha Region and Manyara Region. It is an unspoiled paradise of ground water forest fed by underground springs and teeming with wildlife such as elephants, hippos, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and some of the largest baboon troupes in Africa. The most iconic attraction is its tree-climbing lions, and visitors from all over the world come to see these iconic predators relaxing in the trees. To the west, Lake Manyara National Park is composed of a narrow strip running in the middle of Gregory Rift wall, and Lake Manyara, a soda lake in the east. Between the cliffs and the eponymous soda lake, which extends around 50 kilometers along the base of the 500 meter high East African Rift Valley escarpment, home to impudent rock-climbing klipspringer and diminutive dik-dik, there is a narrow belt of acacia woodland and area of grassland which changes seasonally from short, rich grazing lawns to golden, dry grass savanna.
